Terms of Use
Last updated: 7 June 2026 · Applies to the Just Transcribe app for iPhone & iPad.
In plain words: Just Transcribe is a paid app you may use on your own Apple devices: a single one-time purchase, which is the only thing you ever pay for it. Tips are optional and don’t buy features. The transcripts are yours, and you’re responsible for recording lawfully. The app is provided “as is”, and you should double-check anything important.
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and The Dutch Logic Co. (“we”, “us”), the maker of the Just Transcribe app (“the app”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
2. Your licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, in line with the Apple Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (standard EULA), which also applies to your use of the app. Where these Terms and Apple’s standard EULA differ, the stricter provision applies to the extent permitted.
3. Price, tips & in-app purchases
Just Transcribe is a paid app: you buy it once on the App Store, and that single purchase is the only thing you ever pay for it. There is no subscription and no other required charge. Separately, you may optionally leave a tip (a one-off in-app purchase of €1, €2, €3 or €10), but only if you want to. Tips:
- are entirely voluntary and do not unlock features or content;
- are processed by Apple through your Apple Account, under Apple’s terms;
- are generally non-refundable, except where required by law. Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes. In particular, you are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to recording people. In some countries and regions you must inform people that they are being recorded, or obtain their consent, before recording a conversation. You, not us, are responsible for getting any consent required and for how you use the recordings and transcripts you create.
5. Your content
Any audio you record and any transcript the app produces belong to you. As explained in our privacy policy, this content stays on your device. We have no access to it and claim no rights over it. You are solely responsible for your content and for keeping your own backups if you wish.
6. Our intellectual property
The app itself, including its name, design, icon and software, belongs to The Dutch Logic Co. and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms don’t give you any right to copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app, except where the law expressly allows it.
7. Transcription accuracy
Speech recognition is not perfect. Transcripts may contain errors, especially with background noise, overlapping speakers, accents or specialist terms. Please don’t rely on the app as the sole record for anything critical (legal, medical, financial or safety-related) without checking it yourself.
8. Disclaimer
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don’t guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device or iOS version. Nothing in these Terms removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Dutch Logic Co. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. Because the app is a one-time purchase, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid for it. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. About Apple
Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation regarding the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them.
11. Changes
We may update the app and these Terms from time to time. When we change the Terms, we’ll update the “last updated” date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence. Disputes will be subject to the competent courts of the Netherlands, unless the law that applies to you provides otherwise.
